If I could do one project over again, I would do my "Metaphor" project over again. I would do my "Metaphor"project over again because I didnt really take my time to make it actually look neat and artsy, I just rushed it. If I had the chance to re-do this project, I would definitely take my time to perfect it, and definitely add color to it. My most successful project was my "Inspiration" project. The reason why my "Inspiration" project was the most successful is because I really took my time to perfect this project. This project took me almost two weeks to finish. Basketball really inspires me everday and it keeps me out of trouble. I chose the Cleveland Cavaliers NBA team as my theme for my "Inspiration" project because they're my favorite NBA team. I felt like this is the best piece of art work I've done this semester, I got a lot of great compliments on my project, people thought I actually bought the painting. I have not started my series project just yet, Im brainstorming and trying to come up with great ideas. You'll see it when Im finished. GOOOdByeeee!!!!!!!!!
A blind portrait is when someone writes down their dislikes and likes, favorite activities, favorite sport, etc. Once done, the paper is then passed out to a different individual. That different individual who got the paper must create a portrait based off what that someone wrote down. Keep in mind that the individual has NO CLUE who it is....which is why its called blind portrait. The paper I got was someone who like grilling and making steaks. I decided to draw a chef making steaks on a grill. I made the chef, grill, and arrows pointing towards the chef pop out by placing folded paper under my chef, grill, and arrows to make it pop up when it gets open.
The metaphor I chose was "Time is a thief". In this picture, it shows a walking clock with a alarm that reads 7:00 am. The picture also shows a girl sleeping in bed with an alarm clock on her dresser that reads 11:31 pm. The walking clock is creeping into the girls room to replace her time with his. Above the girl bed, is a white board that read "Set time for 7:00 am. This illustrations shows how it feels when people don't get enough sleep at night. Time seems like it go so fast when your sleeping at night and have to wake up early in the morning.

Did you learn new techniques or processes as part of the work for this project? Yes, I learned that pouring rubbing alcohol over sharpie work that's on a canvas gives the sharpies an assorted look. I got this idea from DIY, they have great arts and crafts ideas.
Did you gain skill with familiar materials? Yes, I gained skill using familiar materials, sharpies and rubbing alcohol. I never thought of the idea of putting those two together. Both sharpies and rubbing alcohol are things that I both use. |
